Finding balance in life can be tough.
The daily grind can sometimes be overwhelming and juggling a work life balance can be a struggle.
There’s a variety of reasons why someone may find it hard to find balance in their life, but often it’s because you try to take on too much in your life trying to please everyone.
Trying to fit everything into one day, can be a real challenge. Some people find it so hard when they are trying to keep up with jobs, family, friends and their schedule is full.
Balance can also mean different things to different people.
I look at what balance means to me. One of the things I have had to teach myself to do is to not feel guilty about wanting my own space. I try and be really careful with how I use my time. Not allowing things to distract me and having that discipline with myself.
There are times when I have made a conscious decision to eat healthily for a week and not have any any junk food – then I give in and go and have a take away. I have had to really try hard to be disciplined and focused. Whilst in the grand scheme of things, one small decision in isolation is nothing to be worried about it’s the impact it can have on the rest of your life and upset the equilibrium. This can then impact on other aspects of your life and the way you take care of yourself – e.g. food, sleep exercise and relaxation. These areas have a massive impact on your life balance, so if you don’t look after you, there is no one else that’s going to do this for you!
Take time out - even if it is just an hour or so a day. Stick to that – write it down in your diary what you are going to do with your time – give yourself that discipline and life until you start to feel more happy and balanced.
